If you’ve read the early leaks of my recent book, you’ve read this already.

As of 2026, I no longer mentor people who don’t take to heart my warnings early. Give them 2 months and if they continue with consumer culture, I just stop mentoring.

Luxuries

I went to get McDonalds’ new Big Arch sandwich. I don’t do fast food, it’s a luxury. Maybe maybe once in 3 months. Maybe. Whenever I think about fast food, I put $20 into a Robinhood growth fund and make dinner at home. Fast food is a luxury.

I don’t wear any branded clothes regularly. You will likely never see a Nike or Underarmor logo on me. Those are luxuries, to be able to advertise sormone’s brand with an item I paid for. My clothes cost way more but they last forever and the brands don’t put logos on them. Not a luxury there.

Concerts. Movies. Streaming apps. Grocery delivery. Meal delivery subscriptions. Tattoos. Weed. Small things that make everyone millions poorer over a lifetime and help folks conspire to bully their friends into also doing.

What luxuries are you addicted to daily or weekly that you need help breaking?

My biggest one left is packaged food at home. Absolutely a luxury and I need to quit it and replace my pantry with ingredients. If I ended packaged goods TODAY, I could hire a personal chef tomorrow with the instant savings.

'Packaged foods' meaning what exactly?

A personal chef seems like a lot of packaged food ...

Mine is mobile game (on phone). Really it's not efforting making more income and the game is an easy distraction.

I don't do movies or tv or concerts (been to one in my life) or movies (1-2 a year maybe).

For me packaged food is stuff like protein bars or low carb pasta noodles or even frozen pizza.

I don’t need that junk, plus the cost to make food bulk, freeze it, package it, ship it to multiple warehouses and then to stores — the overhead is insane.

I bought some chocolate for years for $6 a bar. Very good, quality chocolate, low sugar. I started making it myself at home, and it’s about $0.90 a bar — with better ingredients and I can set the temperature myself for exactly the mouth feel and melt I prefer.

My entire pantry needs to become just fresh and dehydrated ingredients. I can even make protein noodles at home, so why aren’t I?

Probably social media or YouTube for me. Having easy access to information is a luxury.
